Engineering and Computer Science Summer Camps

 

Made with Imagination Summer Camps are half day camps held in the morning. They are open to students entering grades K - 8 in the Fall 2017.


 

 

 

June 12 - 16

Dream It, Make it!

 

Morning - 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Grades : Rising 3rd - Rising 5th Grade


Do you enjoy building structures with Cardboard. How about building towers with spaghetti and marshmallows. Celebrate the power of Creative play by building something amazing out of cardboard, recycled materials and imagination. You get to take your creation home at the end of the week.

 

​Promotes Teamwork, Creative Problem Solving and Collaboration. Prepares students for Destination Imagination - Instant Challenge

 

June 19 - 23
LEGO Robotics Challenge
Morning
- 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Grades : Rising 4th - Rising 8th Grade

Campers will be challenged to work in teams and complete robotics missions by programming the LEGO Mindstorms EV3 in a 3D World. They will also build , design and test an autonomous robot using LEGO® MINDSTORMS® technology. Great way to prepare for the First Lego League (FLL) - Robot part of the Tournament.

 

June 26 - 30
Game Jam with Scratch
Morning
- 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Grades : Rising 3rd - Rising 5th grade

A Game Jam is a gathering where people design, test and play new video games within a short span of time. Bring friends, make friends, enjoy snacks and refreshments, play some games and then try your hand at making a game.
 

Students can participate by choosing from one of two themes - Storytelling and Video Game Design.
The processes of game design and play build critical skills: problem-solving, innovation, and teamwork.

 

July 3,5 - 7
Digital Storytelling with ScratchJr

Morning - 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Grades : Rising K - Rising 2nd grade


Students will create interactive collages, animated stories and games. They will pick their favorite fable and illustrate the story digitally via ScratchJr. In the process they learn programming concepts of sequencing, looping and events.

 

July 10 - 14
Game Jam with Minecraft
Morning
- 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Grades : Rising 4th - Rising 8th grade

 

Minecraft mods are pieces of code that change the way your favorite video game works.  Get ready to create the coolest minecraft mods, all while learning the core concepts of computer science and JavaScript (the language of the web).  Learn important coding concepts , starting with loops, functions and variables. Make something cool! Your imagination is the only limit!
